The trip provided an opportunity to communicate with representatives of international organizations, business, and the public sector, talk about the work of the UBA, and discuss the needs of communities in the front-line Kharkiv region.
During the days of the World Economic Forum, Davos becomes a place not only for official discussions, but also for numerous professional meetings and parallel events.
In this environment, Dan Radion and Valentin Bezshapkin communicated with potential UBA partners. They talked about the humanitarian needs of Kharkiv region communities, educational opportunities for children and adults, support for veterans and their families, and infrastructure restoration.
It was important for the UBA not only to talk about the difficulties of the frontline region, but also share team experiences, who work in communities every day and see the situation firsthand.
The first meeting does not mean an agreement or a finished project. Partnership takes time: further conversations, understanding the capabilities of each party, and finding a topic around which we can work together.
After the trip, the UBA team continues to communicate with new contacts and seeks points of contact with organizations and people who are ready to support Ukraine with practical actions.
It is important for us that international attention to Ukraine does not remain just at the level of statements. It must gradually transition into decisions that take into account the real needs of people and communities.
The world often sees the Kharkiv region primarily through shelling, danger, and destruction. But it is also a region of strong communities, professional teams, educators, entrepreneurs, volunteers, and veterans.
UBA is one of the organizations that works in this environment and can share its experience with international partners.
We do not speak on behalf of the entire Kharkiv region. At the same time, we can talk about what we see in our daily work: what communities need, what approaches are already helping people, and where the participation of international partners can be most useful.
The working meetings in Davos were another step in the development of UBA's international contacts. Now the main thing is to continue the conversations that have begun and understand which of them can become the basis for meaningful cooperation.
We invite foundations, businesses, international organizations and Ukrainian communities abroad interested in supporting the communities of the Kharkiv region to join the dialogue.
